What is a container twist lock?

A container twist lock is a steel fitting that locks two containers together at their corner castings. The lock has a rotating cam that engages when twisted. Twist locks are rated to 25 metric tons of vertical load each. They are used to stack containers safely on ships, trucks, and yards.
