Refrigerated containers for rent in Halifax
Rent or buy chilled, frozen and heated container storage in Halifax and throughout Nova Scotia.
Cold storage container rental in Halifax and across the province
TITAN covers Halifax and the wider Nova Scotia area, so extra chilled or frozen capacity can be brought to your site rather than built on it.
To get started, tell us the temperature you need to hold and roughly how much space you need. We’ll handle the rest, delivering a refrigerated container to your business premises, positioning it where you want it and handing it over so it’s ready for immediate use. It can stay for a season or for several years, and when the job’s finished, we take it away again.
Temperature-controlled storage is what TITAN is best known for – and we do it in more than 40 destinations across Canada and the US. It’s a genuine specialty – which is what you want when you have stock worth tens of thousands (or more) of dollars in storage.

Cold chain country
Nova Scotia exports billions of dollars of seafood annually, more than any other province, reaching customers worldwide. Very little of that survives a break in the cold chain, which is why so many of the conversations we have on this coast start with somebody running out of freezer space at the worst possible moment.
Seafood may be the headline, but it’s far from the whole picture. Around Halifax, our units go to:
- Processors and exporters storing catch before it ships
- Grocery chains and wholesalers covering a refit, a peak or a breakdown
- Restaurants, hotels and catering operations short of back-of-house space
- Hospitals, universities and laboratories storing samples and reagents
- Growers and food producers during the busy months and seasonal peaks
- Event organizers and festivals who lack cold storage on site
Start with the temperature, not the container
It’s the quickest way to narrow things down. Every reefer container we rent out around Halifax comes from TITAN’s world-famous ArcticStore collection. Whether you want a chiller or a freezer container, the only real question is which temperature range it has to cover.
- Chilled through to deep frozen, +45°C to -40°C – the signature ArcticStore model in 10ft, 20ft or 40ft. One unit, any set point in that band – which is why it accounts for most of what we rent.
- Rapid chilling and freezing – the ArcticBlast, in 20ft and 40ft sizes. Designed to strip heat from a fresh batch at speed rather than store product that’s already cold.
- Ultra-low, as far as -75°C – the Arctic UltraFreezer, in 20ft and 40ft. For clinical samples, vaccines, certain foods and specialist testing.
- Warm, up to +85°C – the HotStore, 20ft and 40ft. Used for chemicals, drying, curing and anything that must never be allowed to chill.
If running costs are a concern, the ArcticStore Horizon is a 40ft freezer container built for low energy use, drawing roughly 55% less energy, on average, than a standard unit and supplied with solar panels.
Most units arrive with remote monitoring – SmartArctic – pre-fitted. The platform gives you remote control and all checks from your phone, so alarms, setpoints, defrost cycles, and temperature data can reach you wherever you are.
Worth knowing: a 20ft ArcticStore takes ten standard Euro pallets. That number is for storage, though, not for picking. If your team will be in and out of the unit daily, plan on fewer pallets and keep an aisle, or you’ll spend a week shuffling stock to reach the back. The dimensions page has the figures for every size.

Delivery and positioning
Delivery is handled by our own drivers, who position the unit for you, so there’s nothing to lift or bring in your end. What we need beforehand is a clear picture of the site.
- Ground that’s firm and reasonably level, and stays that way when it’s wet
- Enough space for a truck to arrive, manoeuvre and reverse
- Nothing overhead in the way of the lift
- Room at the door end to work
- A power supply that’s ready, or a plan to get one there
Anything unusual about the approach is worth flagging early. Narrow lanes, soft verges, tight gateways and sloping yards are all workable, but they’re much easier to work with when we know in advance. Our delivery guide sets out what to expect.
Refrigerated container rental terms and buying options
A chiller or freezer container in Halifax tends to be rented for months rather than weeks, and many rental agreements last years. Short rentals are available too. Our terms are pretty flexible.
Where a couple of containers aren’t enough, 20ft and 40ft units can be built into an Arctic SuperStore: a single open-plan cold room shaped around your yard and split into temperature zones as required, blast freezing included. If this appeals, mention it early, as it requires careful planning.
Ownership is an option as well, with refrigerated containers for sale in Halifax and elsewhere in the province. Whatever you need, just ask.
